Childhood Trauma
Many of our core wounds and false beliefs stem from childhood. Even with a relatively good upbringing, early experiences—at home, in school, or in relationships—can leave lasting imprints. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients reconnect with their inner child and heal the beliefs that continue to shape their adult lives. Modalities like EMDR, Brainspotting, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy support the release of trauma held in the body and nervous system.
Core false beliefs often live beneath the surface, quietly shaping our behaviors and relationships. These may sound like “I’m not good enough,” “I’m unlovable,” or “I’m too much.” Inner child work helps us access and tend to the younger parts of ourselves that carry these beliefs—offering the care, protection, and compassion they didn’t receive. Through this process, we learn to “reparent” ourselves, allowing our adult self to lead with awareness, love, and presence.
Hormone-Related Mental Health
Hormonal changes can have a profound impact on mental health. I offer compassionate, individualized support for individuals navigating hormone-related challenges, including PMDD, perimenopause, menopause, postpartum depression, and trans-affirming care.
Hormonal shifts can significantly impact emotional well-being. I support individuals of all gender identities through these changes.
Whether you’re experiencing the emotional challenges of perimenopause, the emotional dysregulation of PMDD, or the unique journey of gender-affirming care, I provide a holistic and affirming approach to mental health. My therapy integrates mindfulness-based practices, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed care, helping you reclaim balance, self-empowerment, and a deeper sense of connection to your true self during times of hormonal change.
Supporting Marginalized Identities
As a biracial and bisexual woman, I understand the complexity of holding intersecting identities and the tension of being both visible and invisible in different spaces. These lived experiences shape how I approach healing and liberation—with empathy, nuance, and a deep commitment to working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and others who walk alternative paths or face systemic marginalization. I welcome all aspects of your identity—whether related to race, gender, culture, beliefs, body, profession, or background—into the therapeutic space.
Through Liberation Healing, I offer an anti-oppressive, decolonial approach that helps you reconnect with your inherent power, confidence, and sense of self. The journey of reclaiming your truth can stir discomfort at first, but over time, this discomfort softens into clarity and empowerment. Together, we work to untangle internalized oppression and support you in living more fully and freely in alignment with your authentic self.
Addiction
I take a client-centered, collaborative, and harm-reduction approach to addiction recovery therapy. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and other trauma-informed approaches, I work with clients to create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their goals—whether those involve abstinence or harm reduction.
Harm reduction is a practical, non-judgmental approach that focuses on minimizing the negative consequences of substance use, rather than demanding complete abstinence right away. As a harm reduction therapist, I help clients develop strategies to reduce the risks associated with substance use. This can include creating a consumption reduction plan or designing a safer usage strategy that supports the client’s journey toward healthier choices.
For many, addiction is rooted in trauma. Research shows a strong correlation between PTSD, other trauma-related disorders, and substance use. In these cases, healing from addiction often requires addressing the underlying trauma. I utilize somatic mindfulness techniques like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, IFS, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing to help clients process and heal past trauma, supporting their overall recovery. Chronic Illness & Grief
Chronic illness, pain, grief, and loss all bring us into direct contact with suffering. Not as something to solve, but as something life is asking us to meet.
With chronic illness, there is often grief for the healthy body you wished you had. With loss, there is the ache of who is no longer here. These experiences can stir many layers—sadness, anger, disbelief, tenderness, or numbness.
Rather than trying to move through this in a linear way, we allow the process to unfold as it is. We make space for the full range of your experience, trusting that healing doesn’t come from forcing change, but from learning how to stay present with what arises.
In our work together, we gently build the capacity to be with pain—without shutting down or becoming overwhelmed. From this place, something begins to shift. Not because the pain disappears, but because your relationship to it softens.
Buddhist-Based Therapy
Buddhist-Based Therapy draws from the timeless wisdom of Buddhist teachings to support healing through mindfulness, compassion, and insight. As a Buddhist practitioner and mindfulness-based counselor, I weave practices like guided meditation, chanting, and personalized healing mantras into our work together. I also incorporate traditional techniques such as Metta (Loving Kindness), Tonglen, and Feeding Your Demons to help clients open their hearts, transform suffering, and cultivate self-compassion.
Core Buddhist teachings like impermanence and equanimity offer powerful perspectives for navigating life’s challenges. I also draw on the Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path as frameworks for understanding and working with suffering. If you come from a specific Buddhist lineage, I’ll honor and integrate your unique practices to create a personalized and spiritually grounded therapeutic experience.
